What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Support Staff Awake Overnight (AWON) position at Spring Lake Ranch Therapeutic Community?
This role will serve as primary staff during overnight shifts and other times requiring additional coverage. Responsibilities include providing assistance to residents, particularly new Ranch residents, throughout the night.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment for residents, remaining awake and engaged during overnight shifts.
- Provide immediate intervention in the event of resident crises.
- Report significant health, psychiatric, or behavioral issues to the resident's team or on-call personnel.
- Document interactions and objective behavioral observations of residents at the end of each shift.
- Administer medications as needed.
- Complete incident reports within 24 hours.
- Perform light housekeeping duties.
- Assist with administrative tasks and records requests.
COMMUNITY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Represent Spring Lake Ranch professionally and positively to others including: families, doctors, therapists, vendors, other providers, employers, volunteer contacts, friends, interns, volunteers, visitors, candidates, the general public, etc.
- Maintain respectful, therapeutic, and supportive relationships with Spring Lake Ranch residents and clients at all times.
- Maintain resident/client privacy in accordance with federal HIPAA legislation and Spring Lake Ranch policies and procedures.
- Review weekly staff and department meeting notes and maintain current on trainings, meeting the licensing training requirements for position.
- Participate in weekend, evening, town trip and on-call duty rotation as needed.
- Crisis intervention and assistance as needed.
- Other duties as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a mental health/human services area preferred.
- Open to flexible schedule and open to work shifts as needed.
- Previous experience in mental health and/or substance abuse treatment required.
- Knowledge and experience of Windows OS and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to complete some physical work consisting of moderate lifting and carrying of up to 40 lbs, using stairs. This position consists of a combination of sitting, standing and walking.
- Ability to use independent judgment and analytical/decision-making skills
- Effective organization skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with co-workers.
- Ability to manage stress (for yourself and others) effectively.

- Ability to work with minimal supervision, overnight shifts will be 9:45pm to 7.30am, with some flexibility as needed.
- Driver's License and good driving record.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
