Farmstand Manager Position
This full-time, year-round position oversees and manages customer service, product ordering, inventory, sales, daily cash reconciliation, and staffing of a busy farm stand.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily running of farm stand, including staff training, crew projects, handling cash register accounts, monitoring inventories, and ordering goods.
- Coordinate with other managers and the owner on weekly projects and goals, providing input to develop overall farm goals and strategic plans for future growth.
- Manage computer Point of Sale systems, work with spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and desktop publishing programs.
- Create farm stand staff schedules and maintain appropriate staffing levels.
- Motivate staff to sustain high morale.
- Maintain effective communication with farm stand employees, as well as field and greenhouse crews.
- Generate monthly customer charge statements.
Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the day.
- Ability to work outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions.
- Must be well organized, friendly, and enthusiastic about farms, plants, produce, and local products.
- Knowledge of gardening and cooking with fresh ingredients.
