What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Assistant - Full Time or Part Time position at Spring Meadow Nursery, Inc?
The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for delivering timely and accurate HR services and reporting as well as assisting with general human resources and benefits administration activities. Ultimately, the HR assistant is to assist in ensuring our HR department supports our employees while conforming to labor laws.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage, organize and update internal databases with new employee information, details, and forms
- Assist with updates, changes, and questions in HRIS system
- Assist with communication and distribution of HR policies, procedures and standards to guide the operations – digital and hard copies
- Assist with onboarding process for new hires, including phones, email setup, computers, etc.
- Assist in performance management tracking and organization of office staff
- Assisting with payroll
- Assist with benefits administration which includes, but is not limited to the following programs: Medical/Rx, Dental, Life/AD&D, Short & Long-term Disability, 401(k), & Supplemental and Voluntary Insurance
- Be willing to assist with special projects and take on one-off tasks large or small
- Prepare HR related reports as needed

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Education/ Experience in business administration and/or Human Resources
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize work
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain strict levels of confidentiality
- Computer skills and knowledge of office software packages with a strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of clerical practices and procedures
- Familiarity of human resources management practices and procedures, and HRIS system(s)
- Knowledge of business and management principles
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Bi-lingual Spanish is highly desirable
- Must possess the ability to lift, carry, or otherwise move 20 pounds
Performance Requirements:
- Must maintain a level of performance equivalent to company standards, that being a “Meets Expectations” in all areas of your performance evaluations (including but not limited to, Self and Management reviews).
