What are the responsibilities and job description for the Steps to Success Summer Program - Second Grade Teacher (3) position at SPRING MILLS PRIMARY?

Three vacancies exist in Second Grade to support the Steps to Success Summer Program at Spring Mills Primary.

 

Schedule*

June 16th to July 15th - Monday through Thursday

June 19th - Paid Holiday

June 15th - Full Day of work (Student's last day in the AM/Clean up in the PM)

 

Employment term will consist of Half Days Monday – Thursday, 8:15am – 11:45pm. Prep Days are June 11 and June 12.

Steps to Success Summer School Elem Ed Teacher

 

Functions and Duties

Teachers will provide engaging and interactive lessons following grade level appropriate content standards for multiple subjects.


Salary Schedule
Based on BCS Teacher Payscale with degree level and years of experience.  Half Day Daily Rate based upon completion of timesheets.^ Pre-service teacher at $20 per hour.

Summer School Building Administrator

 

 
Specialized Skills

  • Must hold WV Professional Teaching Certification for Elem Ed.
  • Applicants are expected to have a working knowledge of APL techniques. 
  • Pre-service teachers may be considered to apply if certified candidates are not available.  This is an opportunity for pre-service educators to build relationships within the education community, gain valuable paid work experience and build their resumes as they prepare to assume their place in the K-12 environment.

A teacher promotes and maintains positive pupil/teacher/parent relationships by:

  • Maintaining confidentiality with student records and information
  • Promoting school/community cooperation
  • Communicating progress to students and parents

 

A teacher maintains professional work habits by:

  • Exhibiting self-confidence
  • Attending work regularly and punctually
  • Adhering to work schedules prescribed by the school administrator
  • Demonstrating knowledge of duties
  • Working with minimal supervision
  • Exercising courtesy and tack
  • Working cooperatively with administration and staff
  • Adhering to school, county, and state policies and procedures

  • Teachers will be required to follow prepared lessons that are provided 
  • Teachers will be required to provide supervision
