What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp Counselor position at Spring Mountain Day Camp?
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and ensure the safety of campers at all times
- Plan and lead age-appropriate activities and games
- Assist with the implementation of daily camp schedules and routines
- Provide guidance and support to campers in their social, emotional, and physical development
- Foster a positive and inclusive camp environment
- Manage behavior and address any conflicts or issues that arise
- Collaborate with other camp staff to create a fun and engaging experience for campers
Experience:
- Previous experience in babysitting, early childhood education, or working with students is preferred
- Knowledge or experience in theater, sports coaching, or special education is a plus
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
- Ability to adapt activities to meet the needs of diverse groups of campers
- First aid certification is desirable but not required
