Spring Mountain Treatment Center is currently seeking a dynamic professional to join our team as a RN Clinical Educator. The RN Clinical Educator supports the learning needs of staff and patients by providing opportunities for the acquisition of new knowledge, skills and behaviors in view of advancing technologies, changing health care delivery systems, expanding staff roles and evidence based practice. The RN Educator performs a range of clinical, consultative and educational activities. A key component of the role is developing and facilitating the nursing department's orientation; as well as, identifying and training staff on competencies for various regulatory agencies.
Job Duties/Responsibilites
Spring Mountain Behavioral Services has provided mental health services to the Las Vegas community since 2001, treating children, teens, adults and senior adults with behavioral health or addiction issues. We offer a supportive and healthy environment with 24-hour care that allows people of all ages to make positive changes in their lives. Our primary location, Spring Mountain Treatment Center, focuses on the stabilization of acute symptoms for patients age 5 to 65, along with select outpatient care programs for teens. Our secondary location, Spring Mountain Sahara, houses our Adult Outpatient and Senior Adult Inpatient programs.
Spring Mountain Treatment Center is a 110-bed mental health facility that provides acute crisis stabilization services for adults, teens, and children in a secure inpatient setting. Our individualized treatment includes a structured, therapeutic environment, intensive physician involvement and oversight, and daily group and educational programs. We provide a caring and healthy environment that gives individuals a chance to make positive changes.

Job Duties/Responsibilites
- The Clinical Nurse Educator acts as an expert clinician, educator and consultant
- Models excellence in nursing practice through the utilization of advanced concepts in the areas of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of clinical problems within defined patient population.
- Participates in the performance evaluation of clinical practice
- Plans, designs and implements educational activities in response to identified learning needs. Utilizes appropriate teaching/learning principles
- Develop preceptor program for new employee department orientation and maintain coaching role with new employees
- Utilizes the research process in clinical program development. Ensures up-to-date clinical practices based on research findings, review of the literature, and/or participation in relevant specialty organizations
- Demonstrates current, comprehensive, professional knowledge and skills in area of specialty. Applies knowledge of recognized nursing standards and department policies including JCAHO regulations, standards for nursing care, and the Nurse Practice Act

Qualifications
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Current Nevada RN licensure
- Certification in area of specialization is highly desirable
- Bachelor degree, Masters preferred
- Minimum of five years acute care nursing experience; demonstrated experience in program development, outcomes management, and teaching
- Able to demonstrate knowledge of current Nevada State Board of Nursing Practice and JCAHO
- Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service appropriate to the age of the patients served
- New hires are required to attend 1 full week of New Employee Orientation on day shift, normally 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday through Friday
- Must successfully pass background check (includes criminal history, Child Abuse and Neglect Registry, and ABI/FBI fingerprint check) and drug screen
