What are the responsibilities and job description for the SUD Counselor position at Spring River Mental Health and Wellness, Inc.?
We are currently seeking a SUD Counselor to join our team! Spring River Mental Health & Wellness is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic with offices in Riverton and Columbus Kansas. Spring River is a National Health Service Corp. Site for HRSA Loan Repayment Opportunities for qualifying individuals.
Compensation & Benefits: Starting from $56,000/year, commensurate with experience and license. Comprehensive and competitive benefit package.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide intakes through an open access model and conduct assessments to determine clients' needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Provide individual, family, and group recovery services, as well as ongoing treatment planning for substance abuse clients in the outpatient setting and other community settings.
- Provide high quality, compassionate and ethical outpatient SUD services in accordance with a level of care model.
- Complete all required documentation in the EHR in accordance with policy and guidelines.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to coordinate comprehensive client care.
- Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in addiction counseling
- Collaborate with the medication management team regarding the treatment of clients receiving MAT services.
- Provide crisis intervention, as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an addiction-related field, psychology, social work, human services, or another related area with specific coursework in addiction counseling.
- Minimally licensed by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board as a Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC).
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in providing alcohol/drug assessment and treatment required.
- Experience working with clients receiving MAT services preferred.
- Ability to meet client service expectations.
- Satisfactory completion of required background ground checks and pre-employment drug screen.
