IT Technician
Pay starting from $24.03, commensurate with experience
Job Type: Full Time (40 hours per week)

Overview
Maintain all hardware and software systems of the agency. The IT Technician is responsible for the performance, reliability, and compliance of communication networks, computer systems, software applications, and communications hardware. The IT Technician is responsible for providing the highest level of technical support to end users. The IT Technician reports directly to the IT Director.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide support and troubleshooting for hardware and software.
  • Design, develop, install, and maintain our corporate communications networks made up of desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, switches, routers, networking hardware, cabling, and other electronic devices.
  • Answer end-user inquiries regarding software and hardware to resolve issues.
  • Provide end-user support for upgrades of desktops, laptops, applications and software.
  • Establish and maintain documented processes and procedures related to desktop support.
  • Work with team members, end-users and management to establish requirements for new systems, hardware and software or modifications to existing ones.
  • Work with IT Director to develop and deploy new security strategies to make sure that all systems and data are secure.
  • Assist with security and access control systems.
  • Provide timely user setup, activation and deactivation processes as new employees are hired and end employment.
  • Configuring, installing and maintaining desktop PCs, laptop PCs, mobile devices, tablets, copiers, desktop printers, and peripherals, such as printers.
  • Installing various software products.
  • Replacing failed computer hardware and peripheral device components.
  • Configuring Windows operating system to company specifications.
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software problems to determine cause and resolve.
  • Performing data migration to new machines.
  • Supporting Audio/Video equipment in conference rooms.
  • Compile and maintain backups to all internal systems.
  • Maintain a current inventory list of all hardware/software and IT equipment assigned by employee.
  • Additional duties as required by the IT Director.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to communicate verbally and in writing with staff that do not have an IT background.
  • Proficiency in supporting and configuring Windows Operating Systems
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office 365.
  • Ability to actively evaluate technical and process solutions to improve overall end-user experience.
  • Ability to work in a team and as an individual adapting to the situation.
  • Willingness to seek and offer help and train others whenever possible.
  • Follow existing processes and procedures and provide input to improving the same.
  • Understanding of HIPAA and strict adherence to safeguarding and protecting confidential data.
  • Willingness and ability to update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications; participating in professional organizations.

Job Qualifications
  • Associate degree in a related field, certifications from a computer technology & network administration program, or minimum of two years verifiable computer experience of a similar scope to include fluency with Windows PC environments, Windows Network Environments.
  • Experience with all associated hardware including PC installation, upgrading and repair, routers, switches, network cabling, troubleshooting and knowledge of basic electronic technology is required.
  • Experience with Linux a plus but not required.
  • Certifications such as A , Network Plus preferred.
  • Experience with Active Directory preferred.
  • Experience with basic networking.
  • Cell phone experience preferred work with company android setup.
  • Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others, strong organizational skills, strong oral and written communication skills, flexibility in assigned working hours and have an energetic and positive approach to rapidly evolving changes and challenges of a complex workplace.
  • Ability to successfully complete pre-employment background and drug screening check, including valid driver’s license.

  • Requires sitting for long periods of time.
  • Occasional bending, stretching or lifting.
  • May require contact with individuals with communicable diseases.
  • Requires the ability to work under high stress conditions for long periods of time.
  • Ability to hear normal range of voice.
  • Ability to prepare written reports and use telephone equipment.
  • Requires computer keyboard/monitor work.
  • Requires prolonged data entry and viewing monitor for extended periods.
  • Ability to cope with stress brought on by meeting deadlines and standards, uneven workflow and changing priorities.
