Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant II (DAII) or Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) to join our private practice. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing exceptional patient care and will possess strong clinical skills. This role involves assisting the dentist in various procedures while ensuring a comfortable and efficient environment for patients. The position would be Monday through Thursday every week, and two half day Fridays a month.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, including general and pediatric dentistry.
- Take and record vital signs to monitor patient health before, during, and after treatments.
- Perform X-ray imaging as required, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Utilize a 3D scanner for capturing precise dental impressions when necessary.
- Engage in four-handed dentistry practices to enhance workflow efficiency during procedures.
- Maintain accurate medical records and update patient information in Dentrix or Epic systems as needed.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control standards.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
- Provide support in managing the dental office environment, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
Requirements
- Current certification as a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or DAII is required.
- Proficiency in taking vital signs, performing X-rays, and utilizing 3D scanning technology is highly desirable.
- Experience with four-handed dentistry techniques is advantageous.
- Knowledge of general dentistry practices, along with experience in pediatric dentistry, is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
