POSITION OVERVIEW
The Regional Director of Sales is responsible for driving revenue and market share across a diverse portfolio of 3 boutique hotels, 1 hostel, and 1 guest ranch located in Jackson, Wyoming, and Parker, Colorado. This role will develop and execute strategic sales plans, optimize performance across all properties, and cultivate key relationships within various market segments. The position requires strong leadership, collaboration, and innovative sales techniques to ensure revenue growth and brand visibility.
SCOPE OF WORK TEAM
- Reports to Corporate Director of Sales
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Strategic Sales & Market Development: Identify and develop business opportunities in group markets, corporate retreats, and SMERF segments. Target high-value group business to build strong weekday group base during peak seasons.
- Corporate & Group Sales: Establish connections with corporate retreat planners, leadership programs, and incentive travel organizers. Develop tailored experiences to drive bookings for team-building retreats, adventure excursions, and seasonal buy-outs.
- Wedding & Event Sales: Secure high-revenue weddings by networking with wedding planners and event coordinators.
- Targeted Outreach & Lead Generation: Proactively engage with corporate decision-makers, wedding planners, and retreat organizers through direct sales efforts, networking, and digital outreach.
- Partnership Development: Work with event planners, corporate HR departments, travel agencies, and wedding coordinators to position our properties as premier event and retreat destinations.
- Industry Representation & Trade Shows: Represent properties at corporate retreat expos, wedding fairs, adventure tourism events, and hospitality conferences to expand sales reach and attract high-value clients.
- Marketing & Promotion Alignment: Collaborate with marketing teams to develop customized packages for corporate retreats, adventure tourism, and weddings that highlight seasonal offerings and local experiences.
- Operational & Market Expertise: Leverage extensive knowledge of Denver Metro Area and Jackson, WY markets to align sales strategies with local demand and competitor trends.
- Technology & Reporting: Utilize Opera Cloud, STS Sales & Catering platform, and StayNTouch to track sales performance, manage leads, and report on revenue-driving activities.
- Leadership & Team Management: Oversee and mentor the Sales Manager, ensuring execution of sales initiatives and team collaboration.
- Revenue Management Collaboration: Work closely with revenue management teams to optimize pricing strategies and maximize overall profitability.
- Develop Sales Presentations & Proposals: Create tailored presentations and proposals to pitch to prospective clients and groups.
- Contract Negotiation: Manage contract negotiations to ensure alignment with company financial goals and brand standards.
- Expertise in negotiating Local Negotiated Rates (LNRs) for corporate and group business.
- Monitor & Analyze Market Trends: Conduct regular competitive analysis and market research to adjust sales strategies accordingly.
- Flexible & Adaptive Work Approach: Ability to work independently, manage a small team, and travel regularly to properties as needed.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management plus 4 years related experience, including management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 6 years of sales leadership experience in the hospitality industry (boutique hotels, resorts, or guest ranches preferred).
- Experience managing multi-property sales teams.
- Experience managing a hybrid role with monthly travel and flexible scheduling for off-hour site tours.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong background in group, leisure, and corporate sales.
- Familiarity with outdoor/adventure tourism, luxury group travel, and seasonal experience trends.
- Working knowledge of Opera Cloud, STS Sales & Catering, StayNTouch, and CRM systems.
- Lived and worked in relevant markets (Jackson, WY & Denver Metro Area) for at least 3 years.
- Self-starter with strong communication skills and ability to navigate small-town market dynamics.
- Expertise in negotiating Local Negotiated Rates (LNRs) for corporate and group business.
- Ability to drive sales performance through data-driven decision-making and forecasting.
- Proven track record of building and maintaining long-term client relationships.
- Must be computer literate with a knowledge of Word and Excel.
- Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with co-workers and the public.
- Demonstrated ability to train staff and ensure high standards of customer service.
- Possess a courteous, friendly and professional manner.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good team player.
- Ability to effectively manage staff to maintain a high level of morale and productivity.
- Must be organized, efficient and meet high quality standards for service.
- Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with others; demonstrated ability to interact with customers, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company.
- Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when completing paperwork and management reports, interpreting results, giving and receiving instructions, and training
- Mathematical skills, including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances are utilized frequently.

Salary : $115,000 - $125,000
