What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dog Bather position at Springbrook Animal Care Center?
We are looking for an immediate hire for a part-time dog bather, hours can differ daily. Shifts start at 7:00 AM and normally ends around 2PM.
- Experience with handling animals required
- You must have your own transportation
- Team player but can work solo
- Highly motivated and fast learner
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Administer baths (ordinary cleansing, flea, medicated) and perform any grooming that may be necessary to the treatment and constant cleanliness of each animal.
- Perform required procedures for all bathing and grooming patients, such as nail trims, ear cleanings, and anal gland expressions.
- Recognize and record any unusual condition or abnormal behavior of any patient; bring these concerns to the attending groomer and/or attending veterinarian.
- Provide each patient with water before and after bathing and/or grooming appointments.
- Walks patients prior to groom or bath as well as before leaving for the day.
- Assists doctors, technicians, assistants, and other personnel with any bathing needs.
- Ability to work with chemicals when performing medicated baths and dips. Knowledge of OSHA requirements when handling hazardous chemicals (i.e. medicated shampoos and dips).
