JOB SUMMARY: Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Responsible for the administration, organization and control of all aspects of Nursing Service. Oversees coordination of Patient Care Services. Is a member of the Management Team. Develops departmental budget, educates staff, and communicates with other departments/disciplines to ensure compliance and quality of care.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduate of an accredited college of nursing with a minimum of a BSN with 5 years experience in psychiatric setting and five years in an administration position. MSN, BSN, MHA preferred.
LICENSURE: License in the state of South Carolina as a registered nurse.
SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Demonstrates the ability to effectively lead, educate, and supervise others. Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate-has excellent command of the English language, both orally and written. Demonstrates sound judgment and analytical abilities in dealing with trends in delivery of care and selection of personnel. Demonstrates an advanced knowledge of psychiatric nursing theories, psychopathology, psychotropic medications, and other psychiatric treatments. Demonstrates the ability to present a positive image when interacting with other employees, patients, and the general public.
