The LPN Intake Coordinator is responsible for Nurse to Nurse assessments for inpatients, monitoring SFaxes and insurance verifications. He/she must also be responsible for working with the admissions and facility staff to ensure exceptional patient and community satisfaction and in developing and achieving community education and awareness goals. Must be able to complete precertifications to insurance companies.
This position is for Night shift (7pm to 7 am)
Responsibilities:
Responsible for Nurse to Nurse assessments for patients
Receive all incoming Sfaxes.
Verify insurance and hand off to nursing.
Document all incoming Sfaxes properly and closing them in the proper manner.
Post pre-certifications and document outcome
Properly time stamp Sfaxes.
Responds and assists in codes and hospital emergencies
Performs special projects or other related work as required or requested.
Shows ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
Demonstrates ability to work with others.
Adapt to changing situations or work assignments.
Demonstrates willingness to rotate to other areas of hospital within the limits of preparation and skill level.
Conform to uniform and dress code, personal hygiene and good grooming
Wear and properly display name badge.
Positively respond to guidance or counseling and attempts to benefit by it.
Adept in identifying potential problems within the department and seeks management guidance.
Demonstrates excellent organizational skills and originator of new ideas and methods.
Use verbal and non-verbal communication with others, i.e., courtesy, tone of voice, facial expressions, gestures, etc.
Maintain confidentiality.
Participate in continuing educational programs as prescribed by hospital policy, as well as attendance to hospital and department staff meetings per department policy.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of hospital admissions policies, procedures and regulations.
Knowledge of insurance verification processes.
Knowledge of safety regulations.
Knowledge of the principles of human services and behavioral functioning.
Knowledge of third party reimbursement programs.
Ability to respond professionally and effectively with patients and family members.
Ability to communicate clear and concise.
Knowledge of specific techniques of intervention.
Workplace Environment:
This position is 90% computer related functions at a desk setting.
Must have a clear LPN license
