The pay range for this position is $19 to $21 per hour based on education and experience.

Provide assistance to speech-language pathologists providing therapeutic supports to children with developmental disabilities in a special education setting.

Provide assistance to speech-language pathologists providing therapeutic supports to children with developmental disabilities in a special education setting.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support SLPs with daily responsibilities as they relate to therapy:
- Incorporate students’ communication modalities into functional activities and work toward academic goals
- Create, modify, and adapt materials to meet students’ communication needs, including the programming of AAC devices
- Model use of students’ communication systems for staff
- Lead language-rich activities throughout the educational setting
- Provide training and assistance to staff regarding AAC
- Demonstrate appropriate behavior with adults and students to enhance individual performance, including the implementation of behavior plans and interventions such as SCIP-R
- Collaborate with team to plan sessions and activities
- Collect and maintain data and individual’s records as needed
- Assist SLP in conducting screening, assessment and/or evaluation as directed.
- Effectively and efficiently communicate with supervising therapists regarding each individual’s participation in therapy.
- Demonstrate an understanding and compliance with applicable regulatory procedures.
- Follow confidentiality procedures as outlined in Springbrook policies and therapeutic practice regulations.
- Attend meetings as required
- Provide direct support to students
- All other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication Science & Disorders; working toward Master’s degree in Speech.
- Experience in clinical settings for speech and language treatment
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to effectively collaborate with others.
- Duties require professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Be able to perform all physical interventions after receiving specific training.
Salary : $19 - $21
