Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to provide exceptional care to an individual living independently. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with daily living activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of the individual, and promoting a positive and nurturing environment. The individual is polite, verbal, and may need direction expressing his needs and wants.
An ideal candidate will have experience working with adults with developmental disabilities ( with anxiety and autism), posses good communication skills, have a positive nurturing attitude, and enjoys an active life in the community.
This job is for 8/hrs week with paid training, milage reimbursement and PTO.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
-Valid NYS Drivers License and vehicle
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
- ability to prepare simple meals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Understanding of individual rights and the ability to promote and uphold these rights.
- Current certification in CPR or first aid is preferred.
Upon hiring, staff will complete a background check including fingerprinting and a paid training.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
