We are looking for a Shop Foreman to join our growing team and help us maintain the exceptional standards we've set for our shop and customer service.


Job Summary:

As the Automobile Collision Center Shop Foreman, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our collision repair shop. You will lead a dedicated team of technicians, ensure the highest quality of repair work, maintain a safe and organized work environment, and foster a culture of excellence. You will also manage workflow, customer communication, safety, and compliance with company policies and industry standards.


Key Responsibilities:

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of collision repair technicians and support staff.
  • Assign daily repair tasks based on skill level, workload, and priority.
  • Provide hands-on technical support and training to technicians.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and high-quality workmanship within the team.

Quality Control:

  • Inspect completed repairs to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Review repair orders and estimates, offering recommendations for any discrepancies or necessary changes.
  • Conduct final quality checks on all vehicles before they are returned to customers.

Operational Management:

  • Monitor workflow to ensure jobs are completed on schedule.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment.
  • Assist in scheduling repairs and managing shop timelines to optimize efficiency.
  • Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and functioning.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
  • Provide safety training to employees as needed.

Customer Service & Communication:

  • Communicate with customers and insurance adjusters to provide updates on repair status.
  • Address customer concerns or issues professionally, ensuring satisfaction and confidence in the services provided.

Inventory & Supplies Management:

  • Assist in managing inventory levels to ensure necessary parts, tools, and materials are available.
  • Coordinate with the parts department for ordering and timely delivery of parts.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular checks to prevent shortages.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Track technician productivity and provide feedback to optimize efficiency.
  • Generate reports on shop performance, including completed jobs, parts usage, and technician output.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to reduce costs and improve shop performance.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of auto body repair, refinishing, and frame repair.
  • Proficient with automotive repair tools, equipment, and diagnostic systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

  • I-CAR or ASE certification in collision repair.
  • Manufacturer-specific certifications for collision repair.
  • OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (additional certifications in automotive or collision repair preferred).
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in automotive collision repair, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of collision repair techniques, industry standards, and vehicle systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and bend for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions (e.g., noise, heat, fumes) typical of an auto body repair shop.
  • Manual dexterity to operate tools and equipment effectively.
