Position Overview:
As an Assistant Montessori Guide, you will work closely with the Lead Montessori Guide to provide individualized and group instruction in a classroom setting. You will help create a supportive, organized, and enriching environment where children can thrive. The position requires a strong commitment to the Montessori philosophy and Spanish immersion education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Lead Montessori Guide in preparing and maintaining the classroom environment according to Montessori principles.
- Support children in their work, guiding them through activities in Spanish.
- Foster a calm, nurturing atmosphere that supports children's social, emotional, and intellectual growth.
- Help observe and assess children's development.
- Collaborate with the Guide to plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities that align with Montessori philosophy.
- Promote a positive learning experience in Spanish, encouraging children’s language acquisition in the languages.
- Support classroom routines and maintain a tidy, well-organized learning space.
Qualifications:
- Montessori training or certification (Assistant, Early Childhood preferred).
- Fluency in Spanish
- Experience working with young children in a Montessori or similar setting (preferred).
- Passion for early childhood education and a commitment to the Montessori philosophy.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with a diverse team.
- Ability to be patient, flexible, and creative in a dynamic classroom environment.
- Must pass background check
Preferred Skills/Attributes:
- Familiarity with the Montessori curriculum and methods.
- Understanding of bilingual or immersion education and how to support language learners.
- Previous experience in a preschool or early childhood education setting.
