What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Tennis Instructor position at Springdale Preparatory School?
Springdale Preparatory School is seeking a coach to work with students in the tennis club. The coach is responsible for provide training to students who wish to learn how to play tennis and/or improve their tennis skills. The tennis club is a co-educational club with Middle and Upper School students. This position will work with students three days per week from 3:45 - 5:00 pm during September, October, March, April, and May.
The tennis coach should have the following experience:
- Explaining the fundamentals of tennis to athletes, including basic shots like serving, returning, forehand and backhand
- Demonstrating how to perform aspects of the sport
- Tracking and documenting players' learning progress
- Remaining informed on up-to-date tennis strategies
- Establishing training goals, including general conditioning
- Inspiring athletes during training sessions
- Understanding tennis rules, regulations and game strategies
- Maintaining tennis equipment
- Planning for and attending matches and tournaments
- Certification(s) from associations like the United States Professional Tennis Association or Professional Tennis Registry (preferred)
