Springdale Preparatory School seeks an Upper and Middle School English for Academic Purposes (EAP) to join our talented team for the upcoming 2025-26 academic year. This position is responsible for the continued development of non-native English speaking students communication and practical language skills. The EAP Teacher supports the school’s fast growing international program by effectively working with non-native English speaking students on their English speaking, listening, and reading skills for academic success, social interactions, and daily living. This position may teach in the upper and middle school, depending on need and expertise.

English teachers should have the ability to infuse technology to create inquiry and project-based lessons to enhance students learning through various instructional strategies and approaches. Qualified applicants should have the following in education and experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in English, English for Speakers of Other Languages, Education, or related field (required)
- Master’s Degree in English, English for Speakers of Other Languages, Education, or related field (preferred)
- Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) or Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) certificate (preferred)
- Fluent in one or more foreign language(s)
- Considerable knowledge of second language teaching/learning methods and techniques.
- Prior experience teaching non-native English speaking students in grades 6 to 12
- Commitment to using professional role to further the creation of an equitable and inclusive school community
- Empathetic and able to cultivate positive relationships with young people
- Use of reflection and feedback aimed at continued growth
- Prior experience working in an independent school
- Proficiency with or ability to learn Blackbaud or other online learning platform
- Teaching certification is not required
This is a full-time, 10-months, exempt position beginning August 2025. Campus housing is available.
