Springdale Preparatory School seeks a qualified Chemistry Teacher to join our talented team for the upcoming 2025-26 academic year. This position may teach standard, honors, and AP or IB level Chemistry.
Springdale Preparatory School is a co-educational multicultural collegiate boarding and day school located on a sprawling 51-acre campus in New Windsor, Maryland for students in grades 6th through 12th. Springdale offers a rigorous curriculum based on real-world application to equip students socially, academically, and emotionally. Springdale teachers offer differentiated and globally minded instruction to students in small class sizes. Full-time teachers are responsible for teaching four or five classes per academic year, as well as participating in extracurricular activities. Science teachers should have the ability to infuse technology to create inquiry and project-based lessons to enhance students learning through various instructional strategies and approaches. Springdale teachers encourage and support students though a positive learning environment.
Qualified applicants should hold the following in education and experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related field (required)
- Master’s Degree in Chemistry, Education, or related field (preferred)
- Prior experience teaching students in grades 9 to 12
- Commitment to using professional role to further the creation of an equitable and inclusive school community
- Empathetic and able to cultivate positive relationships with young people
- Use of reflection and feedback aimed at continued growth
- Prior experience teaching IB or AP level courses (preferred)
- Proficiency with or ability to learn Blackbaud or other online learning platforms
- Teaching certification is not required
This is a full-time, 10-months, exempt position beginning August 2025. Campus housing is available.
