Kitchen Chef

Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our culinary team at a private boarding school (7-12 grade). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in kitchen leadership and culinary arts, with a commitment to food safety and management. As a Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious and visually appealing dishes while overseeing kitchen operations and ensuring high standards of food quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Plan and develop innovative menus that meet dietary needs and preferences.
• Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure quality standards are met.
• Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
• Collaborate with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary requirements.
• Train and mentor kitchen staff in culinary techniques, food safety practices, and shift management.
• Monitor kitchen operations during service to ensure efficiency and quality control.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food management, and safety standards.
• Experience in menu planning and inventory management is highly desirable.
• Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining high morale among staff members.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with bartending is a plus but not required.
• A passion for cooking and creativity in developing new dishes is essential.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
