Who We Are:
The Springfield City School District, home to The John Legend Theatre, is seeking a Security Aide for Springfield High School for the 2024-2025 school year. We are a nationally ranked Division I District serving approximately 7,500 Pre-K through grade 12 students, in a vibrant learning community of 17 state of the art buildings in west-central Ohio. The Springfield City School District values the racial, ethnic and socioeconomic diversity of our student body, faculty and staff. Our academic and extracurricular aim is to ensure social and emotional learning growth for students with a wealth of opportunity, including a 1:1 initiative and the YouMedia Center, which is a digital learning lab offering students activities such as 3-D printing, graphic design, and videography. As a Security Aide you are required to:
- High School Diploma or the equivalent
- Current Valid Ohio driver's license
- Some formal training beyond the high school level
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain an Educational Aide Permit
- Working knowledge of school settings (preferred)
- Monitoring hallways, restrooms, grounds and other areas as assigned.
- Maintaining and promoting a positive relationship between the school and home.
- Handling and defusing situations when possible.
- Reporting unauthorized persons or suspicious circumstances immediately.
- Participating in staff meetings and professional growth activities as directed
What We Offer:
As a contracted employee, this position works 8 hours per day, 192 days per year.
Monday - Friday 6:30am - 3:00pm
Starting salary is $19.60 per hour.
