Description
The Budget and Financial Planning Manager serves as a direct report to the Associate Vice President of Finance & Administration & Controller, and will be responsible for the management of the College's annual budget and multi-year financial planning process. This position will work with all levels of the College community to provide training in budget development, analysis of the annual budget, and forecasting of expected financial results.
Responsibilities
Manage the annual budget process including set up of the budget cycle, training of College community on budget submission process, and analysis of budget submissions for accuracy and completeness. Manage the College's budget system (Syntellis) and ensure system is up to date and reconciles to the College's ERP system (Banner). Development and analysis of multiple budget scenarios for 'what-if' budget planning. Track salary positions, including open positions, and provide salary position forecasting and analysis. Develop multi-year financial planning, including working with College community to gather data for more accurate planning. Develop presentations and materials for budget presentations to College community. Work with the Director of Facilities and Campus Services, Associate Director of Planning, and College Community to develop and manage annual and multi-year capital and deferred maintenance budgets.
Prepare budget analysis and projections / forecasts for senior leadership and Business Affair subcommittee of the Board of Trustees. Prepare ad-hoc reports and analysis of proposed initiatives. Prepare and distribute periodic budget reports to senior leadership; periodically meet with senior leadership and other department heads to discuss budget results and anticipated financial results. Respond to College community budget inquires. Assist departments with annual budget reporting requirements for accreditation and certification processes.
Manage the non-tuition accounts receivable process including set up of accounts in ERP system (Banner) and billing and collection of non-tuition receivables. Work with Conferences & Special Events, Childhood Development Center, East Campus and other College constituents on development of a systemized billing process for non-tuition revenue. Ensure non-tuition revenue is recognized in ERP system in compliance with GAAP.
- Other duties include :
- Complete external surveys and internal data reporting (NACUBO Endowment Survey, NACUBO Tuition Discounting Survey, IPEDS surveys, FactBook data, etc.)
- Serve as office liaison for Board of Trustees subcommittees (Investment Committee and Business Affairs Committee), including taking of minutes for committees.
Assist in annual financial statement audit.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required with 3-5 years of work-related experience. Master's degree preferred.
