Position Overview:
The Maintenance/Set-up Banquet Events team member is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient set-up, maintenance, and breakdown of banquet events at Springfield Country Club. This includes preparing event spaces, setting up tables, chairs, linens, and other equipment, ensuring all facilities are well-maintained, and providing general assistance before, during, and after events. The role also involves a high degree of customer service to ensure the success of each event hosted by the club.
Key Responsibilities:

Event Set-Up and Break-Down:
- Set up banquet rooms and outdoor event spaces according to the event specifications.
- Arrange tables, chairs, linens, and other required items based on event requirements and floor plans.
- Ensure all AV equipment, lighting, and decorations are set up and functioning properly.
- Break down event setups promptly and efficiently after the event concludes.
Maintenance of Event Spaces:
- Perform routine maintenance on event spaces to ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper function.
- Ensure all equipment and furniture are in excellent condition and assist with any needed repairs or replacements.
- Ensure floors, walls, and other surfaces are clean and in good condition.
- Inspect and maintain outdoor areas used for events, such as patios, gardens, and lawns.
Customer Service:
- Provide excellent customer service to event coordinators, clients, and guests.
- Respond to on-the-spot requests during events in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ensure that event spaces are welcoming and meet the high standards of Springfield Country Club.
Inventory Management:
- Maintain and organize inventory of banquet supplies, including linens, silverware, glassware, and other event materials.
- Assist in the storage, tracking, and replenishment of event supplies.
Health and Safety:
- Ensure that all event setups meet safety and accessibility standards.
- Follow all guidelines regarding sanitation and cleanliness to ensure the safety of guests and staff.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations as set forth by the club and local authorities.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with event planners, chefs, servers, and other team members to ensure the successful execution of each event.
- Assist with coordination and communication between various departments to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Previous experience in event setup, facilities maintenance, or related fields (preferred).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and work on your feet for long periods.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings.
- Good communication skills and a professional demeanor.
