What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Paraprofessional position at Springfield International Charter School?
The Special Education Paraprofessional holds primary responsibility for overseeing the implementation of effective, rigorous academic and behavior intervention systems with a small case load of students. This position aids and supports the classroom teacher in the areas of student supervision, implementing goals and objectives, and provides academic support to key students as assigned by the lead classroom teacher. May perform other duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
· Work alongside an experienced special educator to support a small case load of students, driving the academic achievement of students with moderate to severe need;
· Implement an effective, rigorous academic and behavior intervention system with a small case load of students;
· Provide consistent and high academic and behavioral expectations;
· Support student mastery of state, city, and school academic and behavioral standards;
· Lead daily individual and small group tutoring sessions;
· Communicate effectively with students, families and colleagues.
· Supporting and assisting the classroom teacher in implementing the goals and objectives of the assigned classroom/students.
· Working closely with the classroom teacher and school administrative team.
· Making sure the school policies and procedures are properly and consistently implemented and maintained.
Qualifications:
* An Associates Degree or completion of Workkeys or Parapro Certification.
* Excellent written and verbal communication
* Ability to assist in classroom instruction and learning
* Great attention to detail
* Ability to work closely with children
* Excellent teamwork skills
* Ability to remain calm and patient at all times
* Knowledge of classroom subjects
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.66 - $24.85 per hour
