Job Title: Histology Technician
Location: S701 N 1st St, Springfield, IL 62702
Unit: Anatomic Pathology
Shift: Day Shift (5x8 Hours) - 05:30 AM to 02:00 PM
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining of tissue specimens.
- Utilize automated and manual microtomy techniques to produce high-quality tissue sections.
- Ensure accurate preparation and mounting of histological slides for microscopic examination.
- Maintain quality control procedures and ensure compliance with laboratory standards.
- Collaborate with pathologists and laboratory staff to meet the needs of the department.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including automatic tissue processors and microtomes.
- Assist in training new staff and students as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate's degree in Histotechnology or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a histology laboratory; first-timers are accepted.
- Certification: ASCP-HT certification and BLS certification required
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $1,500.00 - $1,900.00 per week
