ESSER III Funded Position

GENERAL PURPOSE

The is a temporary position responsible for providing support to the instructional program with specific responsibilities for facilitating student success in academic areas through mitigation of learning loss among students affected by the coronavirus and school closure, supervising students within the classroom and other assigned areas.  Also responsible for developing lesson plans and delivering group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines to address learning loss and accelerate learning.  Also collaborates with internal stakeholders to address instructional and/or classroom issues; and supports teachers in analyzing data, planning and implementing interventions while monitoring student progress; and responds to a wide range of inquiries from parents or guardians regarding the instructional program, student progress and supports for mitigating learning loss.

Efforts will be made to return internal candidates to their current teaching locations at the conclusion of the work, based upon student enrollment needs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in job-related area, required.
• Three (3) years of successful job related experience, required.

Certificates, Licenses and Other Special Requirements

• Missouri Teaching Certification required.
• Will work an additional three (3) days with additional compensation of $3000
• Experience working as a classroom teacher with a numeracy or literacy coach.
• Must pass a Criminal Background Clearance the results of which must be satisfactory to the District, required.
• Valid driver’s license with evidence of insurability.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

• The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 20% sitting, 5% walking, and 75% standing.  This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
• Work environment is primarily inside, where the noise and temperature levels are moderate.
• The work is light work which requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.
• Must possess the physical ability to work primarily with fingers, perceive the nature of sounds, make rational decisions through sound logic and deductive processes, express or exchange ideas by the spoken word, substantial movements (motions) with the hands, wrists, and/or fingers, and discern letters or numbers at a given distance.
• Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, grasping, hearing, manual dexterity, mental acuity, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, visual acuity and walking.
