GENERAL PURPOSE

 

This position is responsible for directing the College and Career Readiness program. It provides information and serves as a resource to others; achieving defined objectives by planning, evaluating, developing, implementing and maintaining services in compliance with established guidelines; and serving as a member of the leadership team.  Additionally, this position provides support to Choice Programs.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Manages programming and initiatives related to college and career readiness.
  • Supervises the College and Career Readiness team. Assigns, monitors, and reviews progress and accuracy of work. Provides ongoing assessment of work.
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders implementing and/or maintaining services and programs.
  • Compiles data from a wide variety of sources analyzing issues, ensuring compliance with organization policies and procedures, and/or monitoring program components.
  • Communicates with departments, school leadership, and staff to develop plans, programs and initiatives to support college-bound students.
  • Implements processes and procedures to track and ensure achievement of organizational and departmental objectives in the most efficient manner.
  • Facilitates meetings, workshops, and trainings conveying and/or gathering information.
  • Prepares reports and data for district and state accountability measures and progress of projects related to College and Career Readiness.
  • Participates in a wide variety of meetings conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
  • Assists in the preparation of department and program budgets. Monitors budgets and provides analysis and reports.
  • Prepares a wide variety of often-complex materials documenting activities and issues, meeting compliance requirements, providing audit references, making presentations, and/or providing supporting materials for requested actions.
  • Researches a variety of topics required to manage developing new programs/services, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, securing general information and/or responding to requests.
  • Responds to issues involving staff, conflicts in policies and regulations, community concerns, parental requests that may result in some negative impact and/or liability if not appropriately addressed identifying the relevant issues and recommending or implementing a plan of action that will efficiently resolve the issue.
  • Performs other related duties as required/assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

 

Education and Experience

  • Master’s Degree in job-related area from an accredited college or university, required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of job-related experience as a principal or related administrative role with increasing levels of responsibility is required.

 

Certificates, Licenses and Other Special Requirements

  • Missouri Secondary School Administrator Certificate, required.
  • Must pass a Criminal Background Clearance the results of which must be satisfactory to the District, required.

  • Knowledge of basic math, including calculations using fractions, percentages, and/or ratios; review and interpret highly technical information, write technical materials, and/or speak persuasively to implement desired actions; and analyze situations to define issues, draw conclusions and create action plans.
  • Knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include pertinent laws, codes, policies, and/or regulations; personnel processes; standard business practices; program planning and development; concepts of grammar and punctuation; instructional procedures and practices; age appropriate student activities; safety practices and procedures; conflict resolution; and stages of child development/ behavior.
  • Skill to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to routinely upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.
  • Skill based competencies required to perform the functions of the job, including operating standard office equipment including using a variety of software applications; planning and managing projects; and preparing and maintaining accurate records.
  • Ability to schedule a number of activities, meetings, and/or events; gather, collate, and/or classify data; and use job-related equipment.
  • Ability to work with others under a wide variety of circumstances; working with data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using defined methods.
  • Ability to work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with data of widely varied types and/or purposes; and utilize job-related equipment.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Work environment is primarily inside, where the noise and temperature levels are moderate.
  • The work is light work that requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.
  • Must possess the physical ability to perceive the nature of sounds, make rational decisions through sound logic and deductive processes, express or exchange ideas by the spoken word, substantial movements (motions) with the hands, wrists, and/or fingers, and discern letters or numbers at a given distance.
  • Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, manual dexterity, mental acuity, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity and walking. 

Salary : $90,693 - $129,158
