REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree or higher in school psychology or educational psychology, including a minimum of 60 semester hours of psychology
- Completion of a nine-month internship in school psychology
- Professional Educator’s License with School Psychologist endorsement
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide individual psychological examinations, interpret those findings and generate recommendations that will lead to meaningful experiences for the child
- Demonstrate readiness and/or prior training in Response to Intervention (RtI) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
- Participate as a team member in multidisciplinary educational staffings for determination of educational objectives and need for special education placement and/or supportive services
- Provide direct service as appropriate to the needs of the students, individually or as a group
- Participate in parent education and the development of parent understanding
- Consult with teachers and other school personnel in relation to behavior management and learning problems
- Provide crisis intervention services including violence risk assessments and life threat assessments
- Demonstrate effective oral and written communication techniques
- Work cooperatively with personnel of school, community, health, and social welfare agencies as a member of a team
- Demonstrate professional growth and development through continued in-service training, observation, and study, particularly with respect to ethical consideration and legal aspects related to school psychology
- Other such duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor and/or Director of Student Support Services
