Qualifications :
This role is integral to the effective functioning of the Superintendent's office, requiring a blend of administrative expertise, communication skills, and the ability to manage relationships within the school district and the broader community. The ideal candidate will possess all of the following :
- Educational Background : Completion of Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field is required. Experience in a public school setting is strongly preferred.
- Administrative Experience : A minimum of three years of secretarial or administrative experience, preferably in a school district or educational setting.
- Communication Experience : Experience preparing various forms of communication for various stakeholders. Including drafting and prepare reports, correspondence, and updates. Experience creating digital and graphic content to support communication efforts and enhance accessibility.
- Technical Proficiency : Demonstrated proficiency in Google Suite, including Documents, Slides, Sheets and Calendar, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant software applications. Experience with social media platforms, creative suites such as Smore and Adobe, and website management is strongly preferred.
- Interpersonal Skills : Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees, board members, and the public. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion is an essential requirement.
- Organizational Abilities : Exceptional organizational skills, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines efficiently.
- Independent Judgment : Ability to work independently, make informed decisions, and display initiative in carrying out responsibilities.

The Confidential Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent of Schools plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful and efficient operation of the superintendent's office. This position involves a diverse range of responsibilities, including community engagement, traditional and non-traditional media management, office organization, and school board relations.
This position is based in the district's central office, with occasional support for off-site events, professional development, and community engagements. The role involves frequent interaction with both internal and external stakeholders and requires a high degree of discretion and professionalism.

Terms of employment :
12 month, full-time position to be determined in accordance with the conditional / supervisory staff terms and conditions compensation plan to begin in April.
