Position Title: Asphalt Production Manager

Job Summary:
The Asphalt Production Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations of both mobile and fixed commercial asphalt production plants. This role includes managing production planning, budgeting, and ensuring that production targets, safety, and quality standards are met.
Main Responsibilities:
- Safety & Compliance:
- Embrace and actively support the company’s safety culture, adhering to all safety initiatives and regulations such as MSHA, OSHA, DEQ, and EPA.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, regulatory, and production targets.
- Promote the company’s core values, ethics, and workplace conduct.
- Operations Oversight:
- Monitor operations to meet safety, regulatory, and production goals.
- Work with customers, suppliers, and local authorities to build strong relationships and ensure smooth plant operations.
- Assist in maintaining effective production schedules to meet internal and external customer needs.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Oversee the hiring, training, and development of the asphalt production team.
- Lead and manage employees, ensuring a safe and productive work environment.
- Support the development of budgets and forecasts, ensuring effective production scheduling.
- Production Management:
- Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to increase production efficiency and quality.
- Assist with maintenance planning and equipment upkeep to maximize plant uptime.
- Use Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to manage and assess production results.
Education & Experience:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience:
- 5 years of practical experience in asphalt, ready mix, emulsion, or similar production processes.
- 3 years of experience in leading, managing, and developing employees.
- Proven experience reading, interpreting, and analyzing financial statements.
- Previous experience in mobile operations or managing multiple production sites is highly desirable.
Certifications & Skills:
- Certifications:
- Current MSHA Certification (preferred, or ability to obtain).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage deadlines, analyze data, and recommend actionable solutions.
- Proficient in MS Office and plant production software.
Physical Requirements:
- Working Conditions:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Frequent standing, walking, and working in close proximity to heavy equipment.
- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to various weather conditions, noise, and dust.
- Other Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and work for extended periods.
- Exposure to machinery and heavy equipment in a plant environment.
- Regular travel and overnight stays to support mobile operations may be required.
