Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to established procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Ensure patient cooperation by reducing anxieties, providing clear explanations of treatments, and addressing patient concerns.
- Minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff by utilizing appropriate radiation protection techniques, including beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and proper exposure factors.
- Perform high-quality radiographic imaging by following established protocols, evaluating results, and making necessary technical adjustments.
- Accurately document patient care services in medical records and departmental systems.
Education & Certification Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Applied Radiologic Science OR completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Licensed and registered in the state of New York and/or Connecticut.
- Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Knowledge & Experience
- Proficiency in radiographic examinations, imaging equipment operation, and radiation safety protocols.
- Knowledge of patient transfer and positioning techniques to ensure high-quality imaging.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to assess radiographic results and make necessary modifications.
