What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hotel General Manager position at SpringHill Suites by Marriott?
The SpringHill Suites Frederick is seeking a General Manager for this beautiful and unique property complete with a lobby bar and rooftop bar and terrace. The ideal candidate for this position is a dynamic leader whose focus is top-line revenue, as well as providing exceptional guest service. Previous Marriott experience is essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development of the annual budget and monthly and annual forecasts. Ensure the attainment of established hotel budgets.
- Provide leadership for hotel associates by communicating both verbally and in writing so as to provide clear direction. Demonstrate the company culture in all actions.
- Critically review occupancy and revenue reports and make judgments to implement changes that result in maximized profits.
- Formulate complex reports.
- Communicate with department heads, supervisors, corporate office, as well as hotel guests.
- Ensure that all operations of the hotel meet brand and company standards.
- Interview, hire, supervise, and counsel department heads, as well as provide communication and discipline.
- Participate in community affairs and provide a positive public image of Cohenterprises.
- Physically tour and inspect the hotel on a daily basis. Greet and maintain a rapport with associates and guests while doing so.
- Work with HR to handle issues relating to company policies and procedures.
- Travel to attend brand-related conferences and corporate meetings.
Qualifications:
- 2 yrs. of experience as a select service, franchised hotel GM, or 5 years of experience as a franchised hotel AGM. Marriott experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with room division and revenue management principles.
- Working knowledge of accounting procedures, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work both daytime and evening hours, as well as weekends and holidays.
- Ability to speak, read and write fluently in English.
- Bachelor degree highly preferred.
