Job Summary

We are now hiring for a dedicated and passionate Hotel Laundry Attendant to join our exceptional team at a competitive pay rate starting at $13.50/HR and Up DOE including benefits (401k, PTO, Vacation, Holiday, Insurance) for full-time associates.

The Laundry Attendant’s responsibilities include but are not limited to sorting, washing, ironing, folding and distributing all soiled linens, towels, napkins and tablecloths as well as operating the necessary equipment to fulfill job tasks. The role of this position is to issue uniforms and linen to the staff according to the systems and procedures laid down by the hotel managers as well as taking inventory and controlling the movement of soiled, damaged and fresh linens and uniforms.

Essential Functions

• Places linens and uniforms in containers for transport to the laundry area.
• Sorts items, counts and records number of items soiled daily.
• Examines laundered items to ensure cleanliness and serviceability.
• Sends torn articles to the appropriate personnel for repair.
• Stores laundered linens and uniforms on shelves after verifying the number and types of articles.
• Issues linen and uniforms which are both to be exchanged on a clean-for-soiled basis only.
• Counts and records linen to fill requisition.
• Checks periodically the condition of hotel linen and uniforms.
• Working knowledge of basic tailoring.
• Periodically completes inventory of linen and uniforms.
• Ensures that the linen and uniforms are neatly and systematically arranged and stacked.
• Performs on the job training for new associates.
• Receives, sorts and double checks the condition of all linen and uniforms.
• Records all outgoing and incoming items from the laundry thoroughly before storing and issuing.
• Separates linen or uniforms that need repair and/or special treatment and forwards it to the appropriate personnel for immediate action.
• Distributes cleaning rags on a dirty to clean basis.
• Assists supervisors in checking the quality and quantity of all new incoming textiles to ensure they meet the Hotel's specifications and provide new incoming stocks with accurate stamps.
• Reports to supervisor when stocks reach the minimum for order purchasing purposes.
• Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve overall objectives of this position.
• Understands and strictly adheres to the company’s policies and procedures.
• Reports for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name tag at all times.
• Comply with attendance rules and is available to work on a regular basis.
• Perform any other job related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
• Physical Mobility and stamina required.
• Ability to follow instructions
• Detail-oriented
• Professional attitude is required
• Ability to work independently.
