Laundry Attendant/Housekeeping (Friday and Saturday)

JOB TITLE: Laundry Employee

REPORTS TO: Executive Housekeeper or Assistant Housekeeper

JOB SUMMARY: Inspects, washes, folds, and stores all laundered supplies for Rooms and Food and Beverage.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Provides clean linen for guest rooms.

· Provides clean linen for Food and Beverage.

· Separates linen according to classification, fabric and color.

· Counts all soiled linen and records the totals.

· Operates washers and dryers pursuant to established procedures.

· Loads and unloads washers and dryers.

· Sorts stained linen for soaking and rewashing.

· Folds, stacks, hangs and stores all laundered linen.

· Separates, counts and discards damaged linen.

· Records discarded linen in discard file.

· Cleans dryer filters as scheduled.

· Sews linen, pillows or other linen when necessary, including uniforms.

· Reports equipment malfunctions promptly to the supervisor.

· Keeps supplies and storage area orderly at all times.

· Cleans all equipment and work area daily.

· Maintains par stock of laundry and cleaning supplies - informs housekeeper of supplies needed.

· Assists with monthly inventories.

· Prepares laundry bags for guest rooms.

· Reports any hazardous conditions or malfunctions of equipment to Executive or Assistant Housekeeper.

· Answers telephone and relays messages.

· Turns in lost and found items.

• Performs other related and unrelated tasks as assigned by management

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Environmental Conditions: Inside: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.

Essential Skills: Knowledge of applicable franchise standards and procedures. Ability to maintain records and communicate effectively with Supervisor of Laundry and other employees.

Educational/Vocational Preparation: High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Ability to follow schedule and ability to perform physical labor/varied duties.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour
