Springhill Suites by Marriott Orlando Airport is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer for their busy hotel. Previous maintenance leadership experience in a similar sized hotel is required. Essential Job Functions
- Oversees maintenance and operation of all building systems, including refrigeration, air conditioning, fire alarms, boilers, power systems, and emergency generators.
- Manages exterior and interior aesthetics, scheduling labor and materials for remodeling and refurbishing projects.
- Ensures 24-hour preventative maintenance coverage for building, equipment, and utilities, including water, power, gas, sewer, and fire protection systems.
- Implements energy conservation policies and conducts regular department meetings and training on maintenance techniques and safety standards.
- Monitors compliance with state building codes, OSHA safety codes, and Fire Department regulations, ensuring adherence to safety and evacuation procedures.
- Coordinates emergency procedures, conducts staff training, and ensures regular inspection and maintenance of emergency equipment.
- Collaborates with the General Manager and Department Heads on budgets, construction projects, and performance appraisals, maintaining a hands-on approach to property maintenance and staff development.
- Able to manage and physically ensure the proper operation, maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repair of all heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and mechanical equipment. Including - HVAC Certification
- Must be able to work flexible work hours / schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Experience / Education
High school diploma required. Minimum 2 years' experience in a Chief Engineer or Assistant Chief Engineer position preferred. Experience with food and beverage equipment desirable. Certifications in the major engineering disciplines (electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing) preferred. Experience in pools, spas, AC, drywall, and plumbing is required.
