General Summary of Responsibilities:
Working on a great team with the passion to assist the at-risk adult population by assisting the conservator or POA, overseeing with the financial and social wellbeing of the individual.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities/ Essential Functions:
• Provide recommendations to any financial decisions, including management of any income, assets, liabilities or bills, and day to day finances.
• Secure and maintain all property, insure it at market value, and maintain proper documentation of its location.
• Maintain accounting for all clients through QuickBooks and proper documentation.
• Consider the individual’s past and current wishes, the best interest of the individual, and all court orders.
• Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times.
• Communicate to the Financial Fiduciary whenever appropriate and prepare all required JDF forms to include, but not limited to, Probate Case Information Sheet, Acknowledgment of Responsibilities, Acceptance of Office, and Conservator’s Report (initial and annual).
• Communicate to interested parties appropriately, maintaining the client’s safety and privacy, and abiding by all court orders.
• All communications and filed forms are completed on a timely basis.
• Maintain records of all interactions and important financial, social, and other information.
• Maintain client files and ensures proper organization (filing) of all client files.
• Appropriately manage assets in order to qualify the individual for any public benefit program appropriate, including but not limited to Medicaid.
• Upon death, facilitate appropriate closing of estate and file appropriately with the court.
• Possess knowledge of the requirements of a mandatory reporter and be able to identify mistreatment, abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
• Follow the National Guardianship Association standards
• Assists Financial Fiduciary in activities as Trust Administrator and Personal Representative
• Performs other duties as directed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Must be able to manage time to meet all required deadlines.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of QuickBooks.
• Transmits documents through electronic mail.
• Be able to work as a positive team member.
• Possess good communication skills.
• Is organized.
Job Specifications:
Experience:
• Three years of education from an accredited college or university in related field (accounting, business, finance), year for year substitution of work experience will be considered (Required)
• Bachelor’s degree in related field (accounting, business, finance) (Preferred)
Certifications:
• Nationally Certified Guardian through the Center for Guardianship Association or be able to become certified within the first 18 months of employment. (Required)
