The Nursing Coordinator performs a wide range and administrative and clerical support activities to facilitate the efficient operation of the Nursing Department. Ability to effectively handle a wide variety of processes and tasks as delegated by the Director of Nursing. Must demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills. This role will have responsibility for the staffing schedule and payroll for the nursing department.
Experience Previous administrative support, clerical, scheduling, and customer service experience preferred.
License Valid driver’s license preferred
Additional Requirements May be required to work flexible hours and overtime. Strong skills in Microsoft Office programs.

- Prepares regular staffing schedules for nursing staff and posts schedule no less than two weeks prior to the start of the schedule.
- Communicates schedule changes and other pertinent information to management and staff in a timely manner.
- Serves as the central contact person for the nursing department for call offs, schedule changes, PTO scheduling.
- Works with management to maximize efficiencies in scheduling for the department.
- Monitors employee clock-ins to minimize overtime.
- Enters schedules/schedule changes into the payroll system.
- Works with payroll to manage time entry to ensure proper and timely pay.
- Assists with tracking of staff attendance, call offs and holiday coverage.
- Educates current and new staff on scheduling, communication methods and processes. For example, requesting time off, schedule changes, picking up shifts, holiday scheduling, etc.
- Orders and maintains patient care and administrative supplies for the nursing department.
- Help organize and execute nursing department employee engagement activities for the staff under the direction of the DON.
- Maintain and distribute the Nursing Leadership On Call Schedule.
- Assist with processing of Personnel Action Forms to process new hires, status changes, and terminations under the direction of the DON.
- Maintains awareness of highly confidential and/or important documents within the Nursing department.
- Maintain nursing department forms inventory and monitor changes.
- May serve as IT and phone liaison for nursing department as requested.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills in assisting patients, physicians, co-workers, and visitors in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Perform general clerical dutirs to include, but not limited to photcopying, faxing, mailing and filing.
- Provides additional support as needed.
