What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cook Assistant position at SpringStone Montessori?
Kitchen Assistant
- This person will be responsible for cooking breakfast, lunch, and snack for the school’s classrooms.
- This person will be responsible for assisting in cleaning the kitchen.
- Prepares the meals for the school.
- Serving of the meals to the classrooms.
- Assisting in maintenance and cleaning of the school common areas (hallways, lobby, restrooms, break room) as time allows
- Ensure paper products are stocked and maintained.
- Participates in required in-services and all cook training's.
- Cook Assistant must have the physical ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, the agility to bend, stoop, walk, reach overhead, push/pull, squat, twist, and turn.
When Cook is absent, the Assistant Cook is responsible for the following:
- Receiving and verifying all deliveries and refusing unsatisfactory products or services.
- Implements the cycle menu in accordance with SpringStone policies, procedures, and established practices and the guidelines established by the Child Care Food Program and Health Department
- Prepares, organises and sets up food carts for breakfast, lunch, and snacks on the menu.
- Prepares each classroom cart with specific classroom allergies and dietary restrictions. Each cart includes the list of the children with such allergies.
- Cleans and maintains kitchen, equipment, and food storage in accordance with the Health Department. Follows food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Communicates and works effectively with other staff members.
The hours for this position are 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
