About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at the Springtime School. As a member of our close-knit community, you will play a vital role in creating a supportive learning environment that fosters academic, behavioral, and essential skills for living in students with autism and other developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team, including speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and behavior analysts, to ensure comprehensive support for each student's unique needs.
- Assess student progress, create and implement individualized education programs (IEPs), and provide data-driven instruction to promote meaningful outcomes.
- Leverage your expertise in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to inform teaching strategies and support the development of adaptive behaviors.
- Prioritize self-care and professional growth through regular training opportunities, clinical supervision, and mentorship from certified Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs).
- Maintain open communication with parents, caregivers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration and shared understanding of student progress.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
- Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder and ABA principles.
- Experience working with students with moderate to severe developmental disabilities, particularly those with Intellectual Disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorders.
- Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and a passion for lifelong learning.
- Current Pennsylvania Special Education Teaching Certificate and ability to pass mandatory background checks.
