What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreation Center Child Watch Worker position at Springville City Corporation?
Under the direction of the Recreation Center Manager, provides basic child care service to children of patrons of the Clyde Recreation Center.
Mostly morning hours available
Duties:
This position receives children from patrons, collects fee's, and is responsible for the health and safety of the children wile in the care of the CRC.
Observes and monitors children's play activities.
May read to children, teach and assist them with simple crafts.
Organize, lead, and participate in recreational activities, such as games, songs, etc.
Clean, organize, sanitize, store, toys and play equipment and materials to ensure order in activity areas.
Use PA and pager systems to contact parents in case of child's illness, injury, behavioral issues, or need for diaper change.
Keeps children contained to the child care area.
Insure children are released to the correct parent or guardian.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 16 years of age. Must have experience caring for children. Child care licensing or certifications preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Must be patient and kind with children. Must be courteous and professional and be able to greet the public with the same courtesy. Must be able to operate a computer, perform basic software functions and enter data accurately. Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
Must be able to walk, stand, sit, stoop, and kneel for extended periods of time, also able to lift up to 35lbs.
