Sprout Behavioral Health is an in-home tutoring program, serving youth in foster care. Sprout is committed to providing high-quality education to our youth. We are seeking enthusiastic 1:1 tutors who will earn $16-20/hour depending on experience, caseload and expertise. Tutoring typically takes place in youth’s homes and in the metro Atlanta area; Fulton, Dekalb, Cobb, Gwinnett, Clayton, Spalding, etc.
We match tutors with youth based on their needs and your qualifications. We utilize the youth’s classroom curriculum as well as offer study skills & test prep programs. You make your own schedule! Most tutoring sessions occur after school, early evenings, and/or weekends in the safety and comfort of the youth’s home, local coffee shop, and/or library. We do what is best for our young people.
What are the tutor’s role and responsibilities?
- Conduct in-home tutoring sessions
- Can respond to youth’s questions in a positive, and supportive manner, and providing detailed explanations so that the youth can grasp key course concepts
- Design and implement tutoring plan tailored to youth’s needs
- Establish academic goals and milestones with youth
- Have familiarity with a variety of learning platforms and course content, structure, and style within multiple subject areas (reading/literacy, math, science and history)
- Provide constructive feedback to youth and families
- Provide study skills support
- Align tutoring to the school curriculum
- Schedule tutoring sessions clients
- Communicate and engage with youth in a friendly and professional manner
- Maintain professionalism

What do we look for in a tutor?
- Experience teaching/tutoring
- High school or equivalent (Required)
- Tutoring/Teaching: 1 year
- Have reliable transportation
- Strong administrative skills
- Access to the internet, a computer, and a smart phone
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Must be able to pass a background check
Tutor should have the skills listed below·
- Love of tutoring and building relationships with students·
- Is flexible, reliable, dependable, punctual, and trustworthy·
- Tutors will work closely with education consultants to meet student academic goals·
- Knowledge and mastery of many subjects is a plus·
- Willing to work weekends or weekdays·
- Core knowledge of educational subjects·
- Strong oral and written communication skills·
- Strong ability to work both independently with little supervision and collaboratively as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:·
- Bachelor's degree (can be in progress)·
- 2 or more years of experience teaching or tutoring
- Teacher certification
- Strong math skills (Kindergarten through College)
