Full-time Produce Manager $17/hr
Flexible hours Sunday-Saturday
The Produce Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the produce department. The Produce Manager ensures that the department meets the expectations of the industry by making strategic changes to stay on top of new and exciting products and vendors to partner with, with new sales and selling ideas and specials. Direct report to the Assistant Manager.
· Hire and train department members, while holding accountable to high customer service standards, building a positive work environment with teamwork, trust and respect, establishing collaborative and productive relationships with department leaders, team members, and customers.
· Use data from purchasing and sales to track department financial performance, looking at all angles such as COGs, labor efficiency, pricing and margin, and sale of goods.
· Product inventory management including ordering, receiving and reviewing invoices from vendors, setting guidelines for vendor, and adjusting product as needed to avoid waste.
· Respond to customer flows and needs through thorough training, proper product assortment, awareness of competitors and industry trends.
· Assist customers with product recommendations, locations, and special-order requests.
· Sell, display, receive, and store product according to policy and food safety specifications.
· Specific managerial responsibilities include reporting sales figures, department financial statements, and maintaining professional opportunities around new practices and products.
Job Skills:
Enthusiastic and passionate about food, our core values, and a growth mindset toward responsibility and ownership. Knowledge of products, buying, merchandising, and inventory management, margin expectations and within budget. Food safety certification or commitment to completing certification imminently Selecting items for specials to reduce loss as well as ensuring proper disposal of unsellable products. Plan attractive produce displays, filling, rotating, and making sure quality standards are followed. Manage department equipment. Excellent communication, decision making, and leadership skills to create positive working relationships with department leaders and team members, as well as vendors and customers. Advanced knowledge of regulatory and food safety policy and procedures.

· 3 years Produce Management Experience
· Food safety, ServSafe certification preferred
· Prior experience in working with produce preferred.
· Proficient math and computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office and email, as well as other operations-related applications.
· Physical ability to work in a hot, cold or wet environment, whilst standing or walking for 8 hours. Lift up to 50 pounds, and use tools and equipment safely.
