Out-of-School Time (OST) Practitioner

Overview
The Out-of-School Time (OST) Practitioner plays a vital role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of students outside of traditional school hours. This position involves creating a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for students, fostering their social, emotional, and academic growth. The OST Practitioner will work closely with students to provide guidance, mentorship, and support in various activities that promote learning and personal development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging programming that aligns with educational goals and student interests.
• Supervise and support students during after-school activities, ensuring a safe and positive environment.
• Foster relationships with students to encourage participation and engagement in various programs.
• Collaborate with educators and staff to identify student needs and tailor programs accordingly.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to help them achieve their academic goals.
• Facilitate group activities that promote teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance and participation in programs.
• Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and school staff regarding student progress and program updates.

Requirements

• A degree in Education or a related field is desirable.
• Experience working with students in an educational or recreational setting is highly desirable.
• Ability to work with students effectively while fostering a supportive learning environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.31 - $23.25 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 5 per week

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
• After school
• Monday to Friday
