Overview of Responsibilities
As a Merchandise Analytics Intern, you will have the opportunity to dive deep into the world of data analysis and merchandising strategy, gaining practical experience. By leveraging advanced reporting tools and collaborating with various teams, you’ll play a key role in analyzing merchandise performance and developing actionable insights. You will assist in managing and ensuring the accuracy of item data, create and enhance metrics and dashboards. This internship will not only allow you to apply your analytical skills in a real-world setting but also offer exposure to strategic decision-making processes, process improvement, and cross-functional teamwork, providing a comprehensive understanding of how data drives business success in merchandising.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze Merchandise Performance: Utilize reporting tools and dashboards to generate insights on merchandise performance, facilitating data-driven decision-making.
- Create Reports: Collaborate with cross-functional partners to build and deploy reports related to key merchandising strategies.
- Evaluate Metrics: Assess key merchandising pillars (pricing, promotion, assortment) and communicate complex findings to non-analytical team members.
- Develop Dashboards: Work with IT and business stakeholders to develop and enhance metrics and dashboards for monitoring data quality.
- Support Planning: Aid in the annual planning process and ongoing evaluations of key merchandising initiatives.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and make recommendations to enhance efficiency.
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to solve problems using data analysis techniques.
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUP and PivotTables.
- Quick learner with the ability to navigate and utilize database systems and protocols.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Pursuing a BA/BS degree in economics, business, finance, statistics, or a related field.
Qualifications
- Current enrollment in a BA/BS program in business, finance, statistics, or a related field.
- Demonstrated interest or prior coursework in product analysis or financial management is a plus.
