Overview
Please note this position is based in Support Office in Phoenix, AZ. The Senior Technical Product Owner bridges the gap between business needs and technical execution, leading the development of complex, scalable technology solutions that meet strategic goals. This role requires deep technical expertise and a strategic mindset to prioritize and manage product features, coordinate with development teams, and ensure alignment to business objectives.
Essential Functions
Essential job functions:
- Work with vendors to prioritize current sprint and future backlogs
- Support identification of resources with skills to complete upcoming roadmap and sprint work
- Review and rationalize budget commitments relative to timeline/ scope commitments
- Leads the development effort by conveying the vision, outlining and prioritizing work based on business value
- Liaises with stakeholders ensuring their interests are included in the release and the team to ensure the release is developed by the deadline
- Responsible for the product definition and business aspects of the project, including ensuring the right product is being built in the right order
- Responsible for the product roadmap
- Understanding of how milestones and deliverables impact budget - accountable to delivery according to plan to avoid budget impact
- Call out risk/issues to avoid budget impact, help remove issues and create mitigation plans for risks
- Support identification of resources with skills to complete upcoming roadmap and sprint work
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent work experience
- 5-7 years of experience in product ownership, product management, or technical project management, with a focus on technical products or solutions
- 2 years of experience in Retail Merchandising Systems with an emphasis in Master Data Management/Product Information Management (MDM/PIM), Inventory Management, Assortment and Space Planning, Price Optimization and Promotion Planning
- Strong understanding of software development and technical concept, with experience working in Agile environments
- Proficiency in product management and agile tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information for non-technical audiences
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset and the ability to make date driven decisions
