Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)
San Francisco, CALIFORNIA
PAY-PACKAGE : $50 to $60 per hour (Based on experience and specialty)
Contract Duration: 13 weeks, with potential extensions
Shift: 8-hour or 10-hour shifts available (Day, Evening, and Night)
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
Requirements:
- Experience: 1 year as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist
- Certification: Current CLS certification, MT, ASCP
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Vaccinations: Covid-19
Responsibilities:
- Specimen Collection and Processing
- Collect and prepare a range of biological specimens (blood, urine, tissue samples, and other body fluids) from patients, following strict protocols to maintain specimen integrity.
- Process samples through centrifugation, separation, and aliquoting for accurate test results.
- Laboratory Testing
- Conduct comprehensive laboratory tests across specialties such as hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, immunology, blood banking, molecular diagnostics, and urinalysis.
- Utilize automated analyzers, manual techniques, and specialized equipment to perform testing.
- Quality Control and Assurance
- Implement and document quality control procedures to ensure testing accuracy, precision, and reliability.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and perform corrective actions to maintain high-quality standards.
- Data Analysis and Interpretation
- Analyze and interpret test results, correlating abnormal findings with clinical conditions.
- Promptly report critical values to healthcare providers, supporting timely patient management decisions.
- Instrument Maintenance and Calibration
- Conduct routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments according to manufacturer guidelines and laboratory protocols to maintain optimal performance.
