We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting surgical teams during procedures, ensuring the operating room is prepared and maintained for optimal patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and basic life support protocols. Experience in a Level I Trauma Center or an Ambulatory Surgery Center is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field for surgical procedures, ensuring all instruments and supplies are ready for use.
- Assist surgeons and other medical staff during operations by providing necessary instruments and materials.
- Monitor patients' vital signs throughout surgical procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Collect and document data related to patient care, including pre-operative assessments and post-operative observations.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure effective communication regarding patient needs and surgical requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the operating room before, during, and after procedures.
- Participate in inventory management by tracking surgical supplies and notifying supervisors of any shortages.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technician or equivalent training from an accredited program.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and basic life support techniques.
- Experience working in a hospital setting, particularly in an ICU or trauma environment is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
- Proficient in data collection methods related to patient care processes.
