What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Team Manager position at Spruce Lake?
The Summer Team Manager (ST Manager) is responsible for the direct supervision of the summer staff. The ST Manager is responsible to plan and implement all areas of the day-to-day life for the summer staff in consultation with the Pinebrook Director. The ST Manager is responsible for summer hiring process and parent relations. The ST Manager is a member of the Pinebrook Management Team.
Prerequisites:
Growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ
Must affirm, live and model Pinebrook mission, vision, statement of faith and core values.
Conducts him/herself in a manner that is above reproach.
Must be responsible, industrious, hospitable, and enthusiastic.
Qualifications
Demonstrate strong leadership, interpersonal and spiritual maturity.
Must be at least twenty-one years of age.
Prior camp experience
Physical Requirements: Able to sustain physical activities inherent in day-to-day camping ministry including, walking, running, standing on uneven terrain.
Essential Responsibilities
Collaborate with director to screen, interview, and hire summer staff
Meet regularly with the director to define strategies and set priorities
Develop and administer annual review of summer staff manuals and training protocols
Champions camp policies and guidelines as outlined in summer team and functional area manuals.
Provide orientation and training for summer staff
Provide direct leadership for summer staff
o Oversee summer staff schedules and time off requests
o Provide ongoing feedback in weekly check-in meetings
o Administer at least two formal reviews of summer staff
o Mentor and encourage summer staff toward spiritual maturity
o Plan and implement BFC family week programing including activities and children's lessons.
o Oversee and plan summer staff events and outings
o Lead summer team in pursuit of spiritual growth and maturity through bible studies, worship, and prayer times.
Foster cooperative relationship with parents and summer staff to address issues or concerns that arise (i.e. discipline, homesickness).
Provide a formal end of the season written evaluation of the summer team program including recommendations for the next season.
