Spruce Street School is looking for a full time Director of Admissions and Communications beginning July 2025. Some evenings (board meetings) are required. Essential job functions and duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- To oversee the program of admissions of new students.
- To present the School to prospective students and families, including handling applications and communication with candidates and their families (including tours and open houses); organizing and facilitating visits with candidates and their families; securing the necessary student application information; and communicating final decisions to the appropriate individuals.
- To manage the re-enrollment of current students for the succeeding year and oversee the network of families, former families, and alumni to assist in the admissions program.
- To keep relevant statistics on all aspects of the admissions and re-enrollment program and represent the School at various gatherings and conferences.
- To coordinate new family orientation and welcoming new families to the community.
- To identify and work with prospective families whose home language is not English or who might have other language-based needs.
- To develop ways to encourage families of color and other underrepresented groups to participate in social aspects of our school community.
- To work with the head of school to create professional development sessions related to diversity, equity and inclusion for the teachers and staff.
- To oversee internal and external communications, marketing, and public relations for the School and its constituencies.
- To manage the production of Directions, the School's newsletter for alumni, families, and friends.
- To manage the production of the School’s Annual Report.
- To write, design, and produce the School's weekly email communication (newsletters and news blasts).
- To manage and update the School’s online presence, including its website and Facebook page.
- To manage and update the School’s internal Google platform, including groups, sites, and archives.
- To attend school events and take photographs for publication.
- To produce advertisements for admissions purposes.

Qualifications
- Minimum of two years experience in admissions, public relations, communications, marketing, community organization or other role requiring interaction with diverse populations, the general public, staff and volunteers.
- Demonstrated excellent written and communication skills.
- Experience in planning and implementing complex events and projects.
- Skills in word processing, spreadsheets, database applications and other necessary computer and technology applications required.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Experience organizing committees and leading volunteer task forces.
